How to set up Windows 3.1 for Internet Chicago
IMPORTANT:
You must close the Office toolbar before installing
- Insert
Disk #1 that you received from Internet Chicago.
- From
the Program Manager, select File -> Run. Type a:\setup.exe if
the disk is in drive A, or type b:\setup.exe if the disk is in
drive B. Then click O.K.
- During
the installation you will be asked to enter some of the following
information:
- o
Name of Service Provider: Internet Chicago
o Phone Number: Enter the number of your local Internet Chicago
POP.
o Username and Password: Enter your account information here.
o IP Address: My Internet Service Provider automatically assigns
one.
o DNS Server Address: My Internet Service Provider automatically
assigns one.
o Set up Internet Mail: Yes.
- Set
up your Internet E-mail:
- o
Username and Password: Again enter your account information. Click
Next.
o Full Name: Your name, enter whatever you like.
o E-mail Address: your-user-name@internetchicago.com
o Incoming and Outgoing mail servers: mail.icsp.net
o Click Next.
- Set
up Internet News:
- o
Answer yes to set up Internet News.
o Leave Username and Password blank.
o News server: news.icsp.net
o Click Next.
o Click Finish.
- Select
which program group you wish to put your Internet icon in.
- Double
click on Internet Explorer and click the Connect button to log
on to Internet Chicago.
